Salem Witch Trials

Before reading the lecture I know some key facts about the Salem witch trials. They took place in the 1600s in Salem, Massachusetts. There was never any evidence of actual witches living in Salem. This is an unforgettable part of our history. Mass paranoia caused a lot of damage and caused many innocent deaths. It's ridiculous that even dogs were accused of being witches. To later know that the behavior was faked hysteria and ergot poisoning which caused mass deaths is tragic.
