Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti

Photo captured April 6th, 2012 in Upper Deerfield
Purpose: To look at the evidence presented that there really is a bigfoot. How reliable is it, and how much validity can it hold? Does the "evidence" really indicate that this creature may exist?
Information: Bigfoot, Sasquatch, or Yeti. This creature has many names. This creature is between 600-900 pounds. The earliest sighting known was in 1811 in Canada. Footprint sightings have claimed to be about 14 inches long and 8 inches wide with four toes. The footprints have no arch and a double ball which would explain the ability to handle large weight. Many people have claimed to have video footage of this ape-like creature, but all except for one have been debunked. In 1967 Rodger Patterson and Bob Gimlin claimed that they not been considered to be real.
Concepts: It is important to consider the data when thinking about the validity of the bigfoot species. The best evidence that has been found to prove that this creature exists are the footprints that have been found. Apparently fake Sasquatch footprints can be distinguished from authentic ones. The footage by Patterson and Gimlin was the first ever video claimed to have actual footage of this creature, and it is the only remaining video that cannot be explained. To this day, this video has not been determined to be real or fake. One question remains: How come a carcass has never been found? The range of sighting by date and geographic location have suggested that there are more than 1 of this creature. Since we are not overpopulated with this creature they must die, and their bodies must go somewhere.
Assumptions: The best evidence provided is one shaky video and a bunch of footprints. The video probably cannot be proven to be false because of the quality of it.Still, some people believe that this creature exists. Some places have even made it illegal to kill these creatures, with a fine of $1,000 and up to five years in prison. Granted, the chances of someone actually finding one are slim to none.

  1. I love the yeti commercials. I think that one day, I want to go to where big foot is and eat some beef jerkey. Hopefully he is not as angry as the television makes him out to be.

  2. I'm kind of on the fence about whether or not to believe Big Foot. I'm more leaning towards the not believing just cause there is barely any evidence and more hoaxes.
