Seeing the decease

There are many paranormal shows that depict that it is possible for one to come into connect with the spirits of the dead. Some people have even witnessed the event themselves. I too thought maybe I was able to see the dead because of an incident of me leaving my cousin's house around 2 am, when I saw a small figure of what seemed like a young boy as i was pulling out of the driveway. At first I assumed it was my imagination but as I kept looking back it seemed more real every time that something was there.
When I think back I realize that it probably was my imagination gone wild. The reason I think that now is that by remember the night it was very faggy and I was extremely tired after watching a whole drama season that involved the paranormal. I probably was just imagining things rather than seeing something that was physically there. Plus the area where I saw it was on someones yard that had plenty of bushes. Even though I think that I didn't see one, there still are many people who believe that it is possible to see the decrease.

This article is about a lady who can "train" you in the ways of clairvoyance and how the dead communicate with us: http://annasayce.com/how-the-dead-communicate-with-us

Sleep Paralysis / Lucid Dreaming

What Is Sleep Paralysis?

Sleep paralysis is a feeling of being conscious but unable to move. It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep. During these transitions, you may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds up to a few minutes. Some people may also feel pressure or a sense of choking. Sleep paralysis may accompany other sleep disorders such as narcolepsy. Narcolepsy is an overpowering need to sleep caused by a problem with the brain's ability to regulate sleep.

What Happens With Hypnagogic Sleep Paralysis?

As you fall asleep, your body slowly relaxes. Usually you become less aware, so you do not notice the change. However, if you remain or become aware while falling asleep, you may notice that you cannot move or speak.

When Does Sleep Paralysis Usually Occur?

Sleep paralysis usually occurs at one of two times. If it occurs while you are falling asleep, it's called hypnagogic or predormital sleep paralysis. If it happens as you are waking up, it's called hypnopompic or postdormital sleep paralysis.

The Lost City of Atlantis

Over 11,000 years ago there existed an island nation located in the middle of the Atlantic ocean populated by a noble and powerful race. The people of this land possessed great wealth thanks to the natural resources found throughout their island. The island was a center for trade and commerce. The rulers of this land held sway over the people and land of their own island and well into Europe and Africa.
This was the island of Atlantis.
Atlantis was the domain of Poseidon, god of the sea. When Poseidon fell in love with a mortal woman, Cleito, he created a dwelling at the top of a hill near the middle of the island and surrounded the dwelling with rings of water and land to protect her.

Cleito gave birth to five sets of twin boys who became the first rulers of Atlantis. The island was divided among the brothers with the eldest, Atlas, first King of Atlantis, being given control over the central hill and surrounding areas.
At the top of the central hill, a temple was built to honor Poseidon which housed a giant gold statue of Poseidon riding a chariot pulled by winged horses. It was here that the rulers of Atlantis would come to discuss laws, pass judgments, and pay tribute to Poseidon..
To facilitate travel and trade, a water canal was cut through of the rings of land and water running south for 5.5 miles (~9 km) to the sea.

The city of Atlantis sat just outside the outer ring of water and spread across the plain covering a circle of 11 miles (1.7 km). This was a densely populated area where the majority of the population lived.
Beyond the city lay a fertile plain 330 miles (530 km) long and 110 miles (190 km) wide surrounded by another canal used to collect water from the rivers and streams of the mountains. The climate was such that two harvests were possible each year. One in the winter fed by the rains and one in the summer fed by irrigation from the canal.
Surrounding the plain to the north were mountains which soared to the skies. Villages, lakes, rivers, and meadows dotted the mountains.

Besides the harvests, the island provided all kinds of herbs, fruits, and nuts. An abundance of animals, including elephants, roamed the island.
For generations the Atlanteans lived simple, virtuous lives. But slowly they began to change. Greed and power began to corrupt them. When Zeus saw the immorality of the Atlanteans he gathered the other gods to determine a suitable punishment.
Soon, in one violent surge it was gone. The island of Atlantis, its people, and its memory were swallowed by the sea.

Could alien technology be responsible for building the ancient pyramids?

According to ancient alien theorists, extraterrestrials with superior knowledge of science and engineering landed on Earth thousands of years ago, sharing their expertise with early civilizations and forever changing the course of human history. But how did this concept develop, and is there any evidence to support it?Ancient alien theory grew out of the centuries-old idea that life exists on other planets, and that humans and extraterrestrials have crossed paths before. The theme of human-alien interaction was thrust into the spotlight in the 1960s, driven by a wave of UFO sightings and popular films like 2001: A Space Odyssey. The space program played no small part in this as well: If mankind could travel to other planets, why couldn’t extraterrestrials visit Earth? In 1968, the Swiss author Erich von Däniken published Chariots of the Gods?, which became an immediate bestseller. In it, he put forth his hypothesis that, thousands of years ago, space travelers from other planets visited Earth, where they taught humans about technology and influenced ancient religions. He is regarded by many as the father of ancient alien theory, also known as the ancient astronaut theory. Most ancient alien theorists, including von Däniken, point to two types of evidence to support their ideas. The first is ancient religious texts in which humans witness and interact with gods or other heavenly beings who descend from the sky—sometimes in vehicles resembling spaceships—and possess spectacular powers. The second is physical specimens such as artwork depicting alien-like figures and ancient architectural marvels like Stonehenge and the pyramids of Egypt. If aliens visited Earth in the past, could they make an appearance in the future? For ancient alien theorists, the answer is a resounding yes. They believe that, by sharing their views with the world, they can help prepare future generations for the inevitable encounter that awaits them.

Extra Post: Polygraphy

Everyone always says, "I passed the lie detector so I'm telling the truth." Well, it turns out that a polygrapher is false and is not accurate at all when it comes to telling if somebody is lieing or not. People claim that the device has a 90% validity rate but that is far from the truth. There was an experiment performed by the National Academy of Science and they concluded that the polygraph was "unreliable, unscientific, and biased." There have been many false positives that the device has given out which has been one of its biggest flaws. However, it is still very popular and used in the U.S today. In 2013, about 70,000 job applicants were polygraphed by the government. I guess the real question is why are we still using this test when it proves to be unreliable?

Climate Change

Everybody has heard about global warming the past few years and how it can eventually lead to catastrophic changes if we don't change our ways. However, there are a lot of skeptics out there and it is becoming know as the climate change denial. These groups are believed by many to deliberately be denying climate change. Also, this is now characterized as psuedoscience because the arguments denying it are not based on facts and offer little to no support. Personally, I believe in global warming but not at the rate that everybody else does. That does not mean that we shouldn't do anything about it. I just think that they are over dramatic when it comes to how bad it really is right now.

Lunar effect

There is a belief that different stages of the moon result in change in behavior in animals, and humans. An experimental study that occurred in indicates a possible connection between sleep quality and lunar changes. Lunar changes are believed by many to effect birth rate, blood loss, and fertility. However, there is no evidence that supports any of those claims. The belief is surrounded by the fact that the moon controls the tides and water on earth so it controls humans but that is not true.

Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda triangle is known as the Devil's triangle. However, according to the US Navy, the triangle does not even exist, However, it is attributed to various disappearances to paranormal activity or by extraterrestrial beings. The Bermuda triangle is one of the most traveled areas in the world and ships and aircrafts go back and forth from it daily. Evidence shows that disappearances that have occurred in this area are from either powerful storms or human error.

Mysterious Lights at Slabtown Road

In Salem County off of Route 40 in Woodstown is Slabtown Rd.  The road starts out between two fields, before cutting through a small section of woods.  The road runs over a small stream and if you walk from this bridge towards Route 40 at night it will sound as if you are being followed on both sides by footsteps in the woods.  When the footsteps stop the lights begin.  Small white lights appear in the trees, on the road and on the grass, but not in midair.  You can touch the lights but you can’t get rid of them.  What are they? There are many claims of people seeing these lights in any season and any weather condition.  I decided to go check it out and investigate it. When I got there I pulled over and got out of my car. When I got out I noticed how dark it was from where the bridge is, even with a house well lit after you cross the bridge...weird! I brought my K2 meter with me and it was going off like crazy when I was walking across the bridge. The odd thing is that there were no power lines near by. To test my k2 out I drove home with on and it didn't go off once, even when I went under high tension wires. I also took some photos and had small orbs show up in the pictures!

The Bermuda Trianlge

The Bermuda Triangle is one of the most famous phenomenons in the world. The Bermuda Triangle is a 500,000 square foot area in the Atlantic Ocean just off the south eastern tip of Florida. The Triangle has been part of folklore for centuries, but it didn't really capture the public's attention until the late 1910's. The first major documented incident involving The Triangle was when the USS Cyclops sunk in the triangle and never sent out an SOS signal and after an extensive search, was never found.
In December of 1945, 5 US Navy bombers took off from Florida to do practice bombing runs in the Atlantic. However, according to radio transmissions, the planes compasses began acting erratically and all of the planes ran out of fuel and were forced to bail out over the sea. And on the very same day, a rescue plane with 13 men also disappeared.
There are countless other disappearances and crashes in the Bermuda Triangle as well. Should we just determine that it is a coincidence that all of theses incidents happen in this same area? Or is there something really strange and maybe paranormal about the area? According to the US Coast Guard: "In a review of many aircraft and vessel losses in the area over the years, there has been nothing discovered that would indicate that casualties were the result of anything other than physical causes. No extraordinary factors have ever been identified.”

Dark Side of the Moon

In 1959, the Soviet spacecraft Luna 3 took the first pictures of the mysterious dark side of the Moon. To widespread surprise, the previously unseen lunar surface contained almost none of the large dark areas, known as lunar maria or “seas,” that dominate the familiar side of the Moon. In fact, maria make up only around 2 percent of the dark side of the Moon. And a mystery was born.
Maria are actually large basaltic plains formed by volcanic activity. A consensus eventually formed that a thicker crust prevented maria from forming on the dark side. That didn’t really solve the central mystery. Why was the dark side of the Moon different from the side that faces us? Why was the crust so thick there? The question remained unanswered for over 50 years, but astrophysicist Jason Wright now claims to have cracked the case.
There is an existing theory that the Moon was formed from the debris scattered when a Mars-sized object collided with the Earth. The collision would also have created an enormous amount of heat. Since it’s much smaller than the Earth, the Moon would have been faster to cool off, but the heat radiating out from the molten planet would have warmed the side of the Moon facing Earth. The faster cooling process on the Moon’s far side created the thick crust that kept lava from reaching the surface. Astronomers usually dislike the term “dark side of the Moon” since both sides receive the same amount of light from the Sun, but it seems as though the far side genuinely was once darker, thanks to being shielded from the smoldering Earth.

Project MKUltra

Project MKUltra is referred to as the CIA's mind control program. Organized through the Scientific Intelligence Division of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the project coordinated with the Special Operations Division of the U.S. Army's Chemical Corps. The program began in the early 1950s, was officially sanctioned in 1953, was reduced in scope in 1964, further curtailed in 1967 and officially halted in 1973. The program engaged in many illegal activities; in particular it used unwitting U.S. and Canadian citizens as its test subjects, which led to controversy regarding its legitimacy. MKUltra used numerous methodologies to manipulate people's mental states and alter brain functions, including the surreptitious administration of drugs especially LSD and other chemicals, hypnosissensory deprivation, isolation, verbal and sexual abuse, as well as various forms of torture

Déjà Vu

Déjà Vu is French meaning already seen. This phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced has been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not. Scientist explain it as an anomaly of memory, which creates a distinct impression that an experience is "being recalled". One theory is the events are stored into memory before the conscious part of the brain even receives the information and processes it. However, this explanation has been criticized that the brain would not be able to store information without a sensory input first. Other studies confirm that déjà vu is a common experience in healthy individuals, with between 31% and 96% of individuals reporting it. Déjà vu experiences that are unusually prolonged or frequent, or in association with other symptoms such as hallucinations, may be an indicator of neurological or psychiatric illness.

God Bless You

A very interesting superstition I found out. Moreover kind of more of a normal day to day thing we all do. Saying "God Bless You" after someone sneezes.

This is something that has become a somewhat common practice in day to day life. Any idea why?
Well, with a grim origin, the habit of saying “God bless you” comes from the time when the black plague devastated Europe because sneezing was one of the first symptoms. The saying was simply a way to wish the sick person the best of luck with his condition.

extra post

The gambler's fallacy, also known as the Monte Carlo fallacy or the fallacy of the maturity of chances, is the mistaken belief that if something happens more frequently than normal during some period, then it will happen less frequently in the future, or that if something happens less frequently than normal during some period, then it will happen more frequently in the future (presumably as a means of balancing nature). In situations where what is being observed is truly random (i.e. independent trials of a random process), this belief, though appealing to the human mind, is false. This fallacy can arise in many practical situations although it is most strongly associated with gambling where such mistakes are common among players.
We've all been there. If you have been to a casino or played a backyard poker games with your friends we have all fallen victim to gambler's fallacy. Now, I'm not saying that we have lost a bunch of money due to it, but everyone thinks this at least once when trying to gamble. I've had many times where I've been playing poker and thought that my hands have been horrible all night and my luck was destined to turn for the better. Sadly, it has not always turned out to be that way. Believing in this theory, I've lost money more times than I've won. If your losing money, GET OUT! Remember, the house ALWAYS wins.

common myths of children behavior

In our book, there are several different myths that people experience about children behavior. Things such as giving a child candy will make them hyper, a child writing a letter backwards automatically means that they have dyslexia, or even "oh, I'm going to have my child repeat a grade and they'l definitely do better in school." All of these things, in my opinion, are ridiculous.

My wife is a person who is always looking to give somebody a type of disorder. Whether it be ADD, ADHD, OCD, whatever it may be. I sometimes find myself laughing at her because she will talk about our kids and say, "we have to watch out because she may have ADD or OCD" and whenever I ask for her reasoning she gives some off the wall answer or something completely normal for a kid to be doing.

I guess what I am trying to say is do not be so quick to jump to conclusions about your kids. A kid is going to act like a kid and their is nothing we can do about it. More than likely, the parent was the same way if not worse growing up.

Polygraph Testing

A polygraph, or "lie-detector," is a machine that measures various physical attributes (blood pressure, perspiration, heart rate, etc...) and attempts to correlate them with telling lies. In past times they were often used by police and government agents to interrogate suspected criminals, but as they have been proven to be extremely unreliable indicators of lying, their use has lessened in recent years (usually because of court rules prohibiting their use).

In fact, there is no state that is legally allowed to force you into taking a lie detector test, although the police can usually force people into believing not taking the test is an admission of guilt.

Federal courts have their own rules on when to allow the admission of polygraph evidence (it is usually at the judge's discretion). For a complete list of the state and federal rules regarding polygraphs, you can check here for your state.
